The drive back from dinner felt quieter.
Not awkward.
Just full.
Like both were still lost inside the feeling of each other.
Rain droplets slid softly across car windows while slow music played in background.
Kashvi sat beside him looking outside silently.
But her fingers never left his hand.
At one red light, Aditya suddenly looked toward her.
“What?”
“You kissed me first on terrace.”
Kashvi immediately looked offended.
“No I didn’t.”
“You absolutely did.”
“You’re lying.”
Aditya laughed softly.
“Your memory becomes weak after romance.”
Kashvi tried hiding smile and looked away again.
A few minutes later the car stopped near resort entrance.
Neither moved immediately.
Neither wanted night to end yet.
Aditya slowly turned toward her again.
His eyes softer now.
More emotional than teasing.
“Come here,” he whispered.
Kashvi looked at him quietly for one second before slowly leaning closer.
Aditya’s hand moved gently along her cheek before resting behind her neck softly.
Then he kissed her again.
Slower this time.
Deeper.
The kind of kiss filled with comfort instead of urgency.
Kashvi melted instantly against him.
Her fingers tangled softly in his hair while his thumb brushed lightly against her jaw.
When he pulled back slightly…
His forehead rested against hers.
“You know what I like most?” he murmured softly.
“What?”
“That you still blush every time I kiss you.”
Kashvi pushed his shoulder lightly in embarrassment.
“Stop noticing things.”
“Impossible.”
He kissed her cheek again.
Then slowly along her jaw.
Lingering touches that made her breathing uneven instantly.
Kashvi closed eyes briefly when his lips brushed softly near her neck again.
“Adi…”
“Hm?”
“We’re outside.”
“And?”
“Anyone can come.”
He smiled against her skin lightly.
“That’s why I’m behaving.”
Kashvi laughed breathlessly.
“You call this behaving?”
“You should see unbehaving version.”
“Shameless.”
“For you? Completely.”
For a few moments both simply stayed close quietly.
Comfortable.
Warm.
Completely gone inside each other.
Then suddenly Kashvi whispered softly,
“I missed this.”
Aditya looked at her immediately.
“What?”
“You loving me openly.”
That sentence softened him completely.
Without another word he kissed her forehead gently.
“I’ll spend rest of my life making up for lost time.”
When they finally entered resort…
Both tried acting normal.
Failed immediately.
Sia looked up from sofa and instantly smiled knowingly.
“Oh wow.”
Aryan narrowed eyes suspiciously.
“What happened?”
“Nothing,” Kashvi answered too quickly.
Aditya looked suspiciously happy beside her.
Which made things worse.
Sia looked between both dramatically.
“Interesting.”
Aryan pointed toward Aditya immediately.
“Why are you glowing?”
Aditya sat beside him shamelessly.
“Love, Mr. Roy.”
Aryan looked tired instantly.
“Kashvi take him away.”
“Dad!”
Sia burst out laughing loudly.
Kashvi tried escaping upstairs but Sia immediately caught her hand.
“Wait.”
Kashvi froze.
Sia leaned closer and whispered teasingly,
“How was date?”
Kashvi’s cheeks turned pink instantly.
“Maa!”
“Oh God,” Aryan muttered seeing her reaction. “I don’t want details.”
Aditya looked proud for absolutely no reason.
Aryan stared directly at him.
“Remember my warning.”
Aditya nodded seriously.
“Separate rooms. Yes.”
“Good.”
Then after two seconds Aditya added innocently,
“But emotionally we’re in same room.”
Kashvi covered her face instantly.
Sia almost fell laughing.
Aryan looked ready to cancel relationship personally.
Later while everyone settled down, Kashvi quietly walked toward kitchen for water.
Aditya followed automatically.
Of course.
The moment they entered kitchen alone…
Kashvi turned toward him immediately.
“You enjoy troubling my dad too much.”
“He enjoys loving me secretly.”
“Delusional.”
“Future son in law instincts.”
Kashvi laughed softly before shaking head helplessly.
Then suddenly Aditya gently pulled her closer by waist.
Warmth rushed through her instantly again.
“You know,” he whispered softly, “I’m still not over tonight.”
Kashvi looked up at him quietly.
“Me neither.”
That answer alone made his expression soften deeply.
He brushed fingers lightly against her cheek.
Then leaned down and kissed her softly once more.
Small.
Slow.
Dangerously sweet.
And from outside kitchen entrance…
Sia quietly saw them.
Smiled warmly.
Then silently dragged Aryan away before he could see too.
Because after everything those two survived…
They deserved moments like this now.
Ch 29 Rain
Kashvi woke up next morning with a smile already on her lips.
Which was dangerous.
Because the moment she opened eyes…
Every memory from last night returned immediately.
The dance.
The lake.
His lips against hers.
The way he whispered forever like he actually meant it.
Her face instantly turned warm.
Then her phone vibrated beside pillow.
Aditya.
A message.
Kashvi opened it sleepily.
“I’m still thinking about you.”
Another message came immediately.
“And your black dress ruined my mental stability.”
Kashvi burst out laughing softly.
Then typed back quickly.
“Good morning to you too.”
His reply came within seconds.
“Come downstairs. I’m suffering.”
Kashvi changed quickly and walked downstairs trying to act normal.
Failed instantly.
Because Aditya was already sitting at breakfast table staring at her openly.
Aryan noticed immediately.
“Why are you smiling at my daughter like lottery winner?”
Aditya answered calmly,
“Because I won life.”
Kashvi almost choked on air.
Sia looked deeply entertained.
Kashvi sat beside Aditya while avoiding eye contact.
Which naturally made him worse.
He leaned slightly closer and whispered,
“You look cute when embarrassed.”
“Stop talking.”
“You kissed me first yesterday.”
“I hate you.”
“Impossible.”
Aryan narrowed eyes suspiciousl.
“What are you both whispering?”
“Educational discussion,” Aditya answered instantly.
Sia laughed loudly.
“Yes, very educational faces.”
Kashvi hid face behind glass of juice immediately.
Later during afternoon, resort staff came asking casually,
“Ma’am where is Ms. Kashvi? We need signature for activity booking.”
Before anyone else could answer…
Aryan calmly replied,
“She’s with Aditya near lake side.”
Everyone around went silent briefly.
Even Kashvi.
Because that answer came so naturally.
So trustingly.
Aditya looked toward Aryan quietly.
Something emotional passing through his eyes.
Aryan noticed immediately.
Then awkwardly cleared throat.
“What?”
“Nothing,” Aditya smiled softly.
But inside…
That small trust meant everything.
Evening brought rain again.
Soft steady rain.
The kind Kashvi once feared after losing him.
Now it somehow brought comfort again.
Kashvi stood alone on balcony outside her room watching rain quietly.
Then familiar arms wrapped around her waist from behind.
Warm.
Safe.
Aditya rested chin lightly on her shoulder.
“You disappear too much.”
“You follow too much.”
“Correct.”
Kashvi smiled softly and leaned back against him naturally.
For few moments both simply listened to rain.
No rush.
No fear.
Only peace.
Then Aditya slowly moved her hair aside and kissed her shoulder softly.
Kashvi’s breath hitched immediately.
Another kiss near side of her neck.
Slow enough to melt her completely.
“Adi…”
“Hm?”
“You know rain doesn’t scare me anymore?”
His arms tightened slightly around her.
“Good.”
“Because now every rainy memory somehow ends with you.”
That sentence softened him instantly.
Aditya gently turned her around until she faced him fully.
Rain wind moved softly around them while warm balcony lights glowed behind.
“You know what I realized?” he whispered quietly.
“What?”
“I don’t think my future exists without you anymore.”
Kashvi’s eyes filled softly hearing that honesty.
No games.
No confusion.
Only love now.
She stepped closer and rested forehead lightly against his chest.
Then whispered softly,
“You became home too.”
Aditya closed eyes briefly.
Like even after all this time…
Her words still affected him too deeply.
He tilted her face upward gently and kissed her again.
Slow.
Deep.
Comfortable.
The kind of kiss that carried belonging inside it.
And while rain continued outside quietly…
Both held each other like forever had already started.
Ch 39 Sia & Aryan
Later that night, Sia and Aryan sat together near resort café holding hot tea quietly.
Rain sounds surrounded them softly.
Sia smiled while looking outside.
“They already act married.”
Aryan sighed dramatically.
“That’s exactly what scares me.”
Sia laughed softly and leaned against him.
“You know they remind me of us.”
Aryan looked personally offended.
“I was never this shameless.”
Sia immediately looked at him.
“You literally climbed my balcony once.”
“That was youthful passion.”
“That was stupidity.”
Both laughed softly together.
Then Sia’s expression softened slightly.
“But they survived something difficult.”
Aryan looked toward distant balcony where Kashvi and Aditya stood together quietly.
Still holding each other.
Still talking softly.
Still completely lost in one another.
“They’re stronger because they broke first,” Aryan murmured quietly.
Sia looked at him emotionally.
And somewhere inside…
Both parents finally understood something beautiful.
Their daughter had truly found her person.
